The Outlaw Josey Wales - some of many great quotes from one great movie...

The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976) is a stand out western from Clint Eastwood...westerns weren't particular popular at the time, but Eastwood was so into the tale of revenge and humanity along with it's resonance to ideas in contemporary society and the parallels to the Vietnam war, that he chose to produce, direct and star in the movie.

These three quotes are just one reason why this film is awesome!

Bounty Hunter: You're wanted, Wales.
Josey Wales: Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter?
Bounty Hunter: A man's got to do something for a living these days.
Josey Wales: Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy.

Ten Bears: It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life.

Fletcher:There's another old saying, Senator: Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
